Small Farm Assistance

Columbia Basin Conservation District's Small Farms Assistance is designed to assist small farmers and hobby farmers, i.e. folks who don't make their main income from agricultural activities, with activities to help conserve their natural resources.

 

Assistance may include technical assistance such as planning or land use consultations, or cost share to help fund conservation projects.

 

Natural resource services usually asked about include water quality and quantity, soil erosion and soil health, air quality, pest control, and responsible AG stewardship.  

 

Cost share funding may include: manure management, pasture management or maintenance, rotational grazing, fencing, wildlife enhancement, irrigation water management, windbreaks or shelterbreaks, storm runoff, and nutrient management.
