Fall Field Tour Highlights Innovative Farming Practices
Kaley Wisher, CBCD’s Education and Outreach Program Coordinator, recently joined the Herbicide Resistance Group on a tour showcasing their ongoing research on crop rotations and herbicide-resistant weeds. This grower-led group, guided by Nick Bergmann, studies how different crops—like sorghum—can play a role in breaking weed cycles and building more resilient farming systems across the Columbia Basin. The Columbia Basin Conservation District (CBCD), a State of Washington governmental subdivision established under RCW 89.08, seeks to retain the services of a qualified consultant to conduct the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)-required cultural resources work for an on-farm Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) project near Connell in Adams and Franklin counties, Washington.
