The Columbia Basin Conservation District (CBCD) is proud to announce that we are now offering Salmon-Safe Certification services to local growers, landowners, and businesses. This program recognizes and supports land stewards who take proactive steps to protect water quality, fish habitat, and the health of our local watersheds.

Salmon-Safe is a leading eco-certification that recognizes land stewards who are protecting water quality, restoring habitat, and helping sustain native fish populations — including salmon — through responsible land management.

By partnering with Salmon-Safe, CBCD can now help local producers and property owners assess their management practices, make improvements where needed, and earn recognition for their commitment to clean water and healthy ecosystems.
Through the certification process, CBCD staff will:
Conduct site visits and conservation assessments
Offer recommendations for improvements and best practices
Help participants meet and maintain Salmon-Safe standards
Do you have a farm, golf course, park, natural area, or urban development? You could qualify for Salmon-Safe certification and show your dedication to protecting water and habitat in the Columbia Basin. This certification is more than a badge of honor — it’s a way to demonstrate your dedication to sustainable agriculture and watershed health in our region.
