Camp Sagebrush is a free, three-day overnight summer camp that provides students with hands-on learning opportunities focused on the shrub steppe ecosystem. Camp is held at Sun Lake-Dry Falls State Park for students currently in 4th through 6th grade.

Throughout camp, participants will engage in guided field activities that explore the shrub steppe, with a focus on geology, native plants and wildlife, and the cultural connections of the land to Indigenous peoples. Lessons emphasize how this ecosystem functions, why it's important, and the challenges it faces.
The core of Camp Sagebrush focuses on stewardship education. Campers learn about conservation, land management, and the roles individuals and communities play in maintaining healthy landscapes. Through hands-on activities, they also have the chance to work together, build confidence, and connect with the landscape. Camp provides a safe, structured outdoor learning environment that supports environmental education while encouraging responsibility, curiosity, and respect for natural resources.
