If you have been out on or around Moses Lake recently, you may have noticed an unusual and exciting sight. Around ten pairs of Clark’s Grebes have been spotted nesting along the shoreline.

The Grant County Healthy Lakes Blue-Green Algae Tracker is back online for another season, keeping the community informed about algae conditions on Moses Lake. First launched in July 2023, the Healthy Lakes Tracker is an interactive, online map that helps residents, visitors, and recreationists stay up to date on potential blue-green algae blooms at key public access points around Moses Lake.

On May 5, 2025, the Odessa Groundwater Replacement Program (OGWRP) marked an exciting milestone with a ribbon cutting and tour of the newly completed EL 86.4 public delivery system. The event brought together landowners, elected officials, and key conservation partners to celebrate the ongoing efforts to conserve water and sustain agriculture in the Columbia Basin.

Washington State’s 2025–2027 Capital Budget, signed by Governor Bob Ferguson on May 20, includes $38.5 million for the EL 22.1 delivery system—one of the largest single investments in the Odessa Groundwater Replacement Program (OGWRP) to date.
